If you have an Android device you can get started on the web today with a web client like this: https://nostr.rocks/

Then when the Android Damus client comes out you can use your same keys (same account) there. The beauty of decentralized technology means you don’t have to wait!

Until Damus is released publicly where can I learn more about nostr?

This is a great resource: https://usenostr.org

You don't need Damus to use Nostr so pick another client and dive in today.

Last year I looked into a similar idea with DESO.

I played with Bitclout when it first came out, but I haven't followed it since the rebrand/abstraction-change to DESO.

I dug around, but I didn't find any novel ideas there from a decentralization technology perspective. They got some large audience people on there early and made it easy for them to do token drops, but I found the whole money tie-in a little awkward. Felt like a bolt-on rather than core.

I'm excited to checkout Nostr. This space is certainly ready for a new solution and a new strong player.
